He stressed the importance of strengthening innovation concepts, mechanisms, and investment, promoting the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, and injecting new momentum into high-quality development.

Yunnan Baiyao Group and Yunxi Group are well-known century-old enterprises in China. During his visit to Yunnan Baiyao's smart factory, Wang Yubo learned about the company's reform and development, stressing the need to remember President Xi Jinping’s earnest instructions, meet the expectations of the people of the province, and enhance a sense of mission and responsibility. He called for focusing on core businesses, strengthening them, continuously improving the quality of R&D in traditional Chinese medicine, ethnic medicine, and innovative drugs, consolidating leadership in these sectors, and ensuring sustainable development. At the Yunnan Tin Indium Laboratory, he gained insight into the integration of information technology and smelting technology, urging the creation of effective research platforms to promote the high-value utilization of non-ferrous metals and rare precious metals, and continuously enhance global industry leadership. He encouraged both enterprises to set world-class goals, accelerate the development of strategic emerging industrial clusters, contribute to the growth of the resource economy, and inject new vitality into these century-old enterprises.

Wang Yubo stressed that technological innovation is the core element in developing new forms of productive forces, and that enterprises are the main body of technological innovation. Provincial departments and Kunming City should cultivate a good innovation ecosystem, support enterprises in strengthening technological innovation, plan and implement plans for multiplying specialized and innovative enterprises, accelerate the creation of "lighthouse factories," and lead industrial transformation with more landmark achievements. Efforts should be made to promote enterprise-led industry-university-research innovation, explore the implementation of mechanisms such as "Silver Age Scientists," and attract high-level talent.
